Our Policies


Rates are for double occupancy and include our home-cooked breakfast. Rates are subject to applicable taxes. We can accommodate 1 additional guest in the Thyme, Rosemary, and Parsley rooms, and up to 2 additional guests in the Nutmeg Suite and the Sugar Shack for an additional charge of $25 per night per additional guest over the age of six.


We accept cash, traveler's checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. If you are paying by cash, it is collected at the time of check-in (a credit card is required to secure the reservation).


A deposit of one night's stay is required unless otherwise stated at the time of booking. Room blocks are available and require a 2 night minimum stay per room and payment in full at the time of the reservation. Room blocks are subject to the cancellation terms listed below.


Check-in time for the inn is from 3 – 8 PM. To arrange check-in after 8 PM, please call 603-677-7245 or email innkeeper@nutmeginn-nh.com. If your travel or flight is delayed, please contact the inn or email us to let us know your estimated arrival time so that we can be prepared for your arrival.


We have private off-street parking to accommodate all guests. We have plenty of parking for trailers and RVs.


Check out time is 11 AM. You are welcome to spend additional time at the inn or on the grounds, but unless prior alternative arrangements have been made please clear your guest room of all personal belongings by 11:00 AM so that we can begin readying the room for guests arriving in the afternoon.


There is a 2 night minimum stay requirement for the Sugar Shack Suite and the Nutmeg Suite. Other rooms have a 2 night minimum stay requirement for holiday weekends or Bike Week. Otherwise no minimum stay is required unless otherwise noted on our online reservation system.


Included in the rate is a full, home-cooked breakfast each morning of your stay and unlimited tea and coffee plus an afternoon snack. Breakfast is served daily from 8:00AM to 9:30AM. Coffee, tea and a continental breakfast can be available upon request for those guests who need to leave before our normal breakfast hours. Please request your early breakfast or de-caf coffee the night before. Coffee and tea are available from 7:00AM to 8:00PM. A homemade snack is served mid-afternoon.


If you need to cancel all or part of your confirmed reservation, we must receive advance notice at least two weeks prior to your reserved check-in date. Then your deposit will be fully refunded less a $25.00 service charge per room canceled. Reservations made through an on-line travel agent (OTA, e.g. Expedia) must be canceled through the OTA. If you cancel your reservation within 14 days of your reserved check-in date, you are responsible for the balance of your reservation. If you have made your reservation through the Nutmeg Inn web site or directly by calling the Nutmeg Inn, and we are able to re-rent your room for any portion of your reservation, your deposit and any balance paid up to the amount we've rebooked for another guest will be refunded less a $25.00 service charge per room canceled. This policy applies to late arrivals, early departures and no-shows as well. Room blocks cancelled before January 1 are subject to the above terms. After January 1 room block deposits are non-refundable.


Children five years of age and under are not permitted as guests except in the Sugar Shack and the Nutmeg Suite. Special arrangements may be made for children five and under in our other rooms when all rooms are booked by the same party. Guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian. All children aged 15 and under must be supervised by an adult when using our swimming pool or billiard room.


We work diligently to ensure that all of our guests have a wonderful, memorable experience. That experience includes maintaining high standards when it comes to providing clean facilities, linens, artwork, antiques and furniture. We ask that all guests please refrain from eating or bringing beverages into the guest rooms. We have a guest refrigerator located in the complimentary beverage area that you are welcome to use. All food consumption should be in the dining, common, or designated outside areas of the inn.


The Sugar Shack Suite and Nutmeg Suite are dog-friendly. There will be a one time additional charge of $25 for your dog. We do not allow cats or other pets, and unfortunately, we cannot allow pets in the other parts of the inn. If the suites are not available during the time of your stay, and you still wish to bring your dog, there is a good pet boarding facility within one mile of the inn.


We are a non-smoking facility. We do permit smoking in areas away from doors and windows outdoors. Any smoking inside of the building or in non-designated areas will result in an immediate request to leave, an additional cleaning fee of $150, plus your room charges.
